SWITCHFOOT!!

This past saturday night i got to go to a switchfoot concert with a few guys from the worship team at Church. Ben got us a great deal on tickets. it's probably been about ten years since i've seen these guys live. the last time was when i was just out of highschool at the old Calvary Chapel down town. all the guys in the band surf so they would come to hawaii to catch the winter swells on the north shore. they're from san diego, california. apparently they knew pastor Bill, also a serious surfer, and would do these little concerts ("little," compared to what they're doing now) at the church whenever they'd be in hawaii.

God's brought them a long way in ten years. ...signed by columbia records...one double platinum record...two double gold records...and a brand new album set to be released the day after Christmas. ...too bad...they probably don't have time to surf anymore! (poor guys!!=) anyway, the concert was simply amazing!! here are the songs we saw and heard...

Saturday night's set:
stars
politicians
gone
we are one tonight
this is your life
happy is a yuppie word
awakening
more than fine
dirty second hands
ammunition
american dream
easier than love
oh! gravity
meant to live
shadow proves the sunshine
dare you to move

yesterday i recieved an e-mail from ben telling us that after the concert, the guys from the band found a little coffee shop down the street and played a few more songs there. to bad we missed it...that would have been sweet!!! anyway...here are the post-concert coffee-shop songs we missed:

the other set:
rebellion(lies) (arcade fire cover)
only hope
there there (radiohead cover)
on fire
betrayal
revenge
amy's song

oh well, we'll definitely do some surfing...music...and hanging out in Heaven with the boys from switchfoot!! here's some pictures. enjoy...

Damien, Thom, Ben, and me waiting in line outside the Chameleon Club in Lancaster, PA.

Jon Foreman...

it wasn't a big venue and the four of us agreed that, though we couldn't always see very well, the intimate setting of a small venue was the way to go!

(out of twenty6 pictures i took...these were the only three that came out alright)
